SALOMEH AZAR
Salomeh Azar of West Palm Beach, Florida, is a popular master instructor and performer of Arabic and Egyptian styles of belly dance. She is known for her charisma, technique and artistic presentation of the dance.
In 2004, The Kismet Dancers of Miami designated her as the recipient of their annual Award of Distinction for her excellence as a teacher, performer and choreographer in the field of belly dancing.
She has been the featured belly dancer at numerous clubs and restaurants during her career in addition to zinging her zills (aka finger cymbals for those not in the belly dance circuit) for many belly dancing performances, events, seminar shows and classes.
She teaches belly dancing to students ages 16 and older in her weekly classes which meet in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
In addition to teaching and performing belly dance, Salomeh Azar is the Founder & Director of Troupe Salazar Performing Company, which promotes the art of belly dancing through education and performance for local and state events. She also sponsors the "Arabian Nights Dancers", a student performing troupe.
She is affiliated with Festival on the Nile of Orlando, FL, Central Florida's long-running premier belly dance convention and show as Production Manager.
She has recently released her first instructional DVD for belly dancers entitled "Wings Basics" which features her techniques for working with Isis Wings.
